There are a lot of realms of such a nature out there. Yours would make... about the sixth I've heard of. It's a pretty common impulse of - human scientists or soldiers living on a ruined or otherwise wrong planet, usually, I think [details get fuzzy after a while and she never did find out for sure how much of that was the case for Carriero] - to come to the conclusion they should build a machine to keep them company.

That wasn't how it is for us, though. We got there by accident.

This group of scientists made a machine that pulled us in by accident. We're still working to fix that.

So it was supposed to do something else entirely... interesting.

Probably something related, but, yeah. They definitely didn't bring us there because they wanted to.

Oooof course, there are people who've been around for a long time who don't want to leave anymore. Once you've been somewhere for years and years, it has a way of growing on you.

Especially if your circumstances beforehand weren't exactly desirable anyway.

So, a lot of humanity. Where do you wanna go with this humanity?

Well... it's a lot of inertia, honestly. I don't have anywhere better to be. And at this point if a respectable amount of trolls won't remain there's no point in hatching the matriorb. So... I help out where I can.

[Then something makes her think--] Your realm is predominantly human too, isn't it?

I don't know if I'd say that. There're a lot of them, but there are a lot of other species, too. Why?

Nothing, I just got... curious as to if there were more of us there.

[piratey]

There's more than just trolls and humans in the universe.

[restoretherace]

...I know that.

Sometimes it's strange to me - the only other trolls I ever saw were the ones with whom we played the game, sometimes the ancestors thereof. And similarly with most other species, only a few small groups. It makes me wonder if there's only one universe where each of us respectively exist, unlike the apparent case for humans.
